This is about a story of Judge Jasper Yeates, an American that became one of the famous Mixed Court Judge in Egypt. I came across his name when I was a graduate student at SOAS more than 20 years ago. Mixed Court was perhaps an origins to the Egyptian National Court established soon after the abolition of the Mixed Court in 1950. Together with it was the introduction of Egyptian Civil Code 1949 which was considered by its drafter Profesor Dr. Abdul Razzaq al-Sanhuri included it its provision teachings and influence from the Islamic Sharia. This material is intended for my IUGH6113 class, but everyone is welcome to read and thanks to Saudi Aramco.
